Paper is my passion and the medium of my artistic work. I love to embark on the adventure of exploring new ways of expressing myself in my work using the diverse languages of paper.

Light is an additional creative element, especially in spatial objects.

I have always been fascinated by craftsmanship and working with materials. My studies at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle gave me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of materials and gain experience in craftsmanship. Paper was one of the simplest yet most versatile materials.

Coming from a family of farmers, I have always had a connection to plants in fields and gardens.  It is no surprise that my fiber garden is expanding, as plant fibers have recently become the most important raw material of my artwork.

The fiber material, which I scoop or pour, press, emboss, fold, tear, print, and paint. This results in works in two and three dimensions.

My theme is our behavior towards nature—the necessary shift toward appreciation and protection, combined wth the preservation of knowledge and skills as a treasure of many generations and the adventure of trying something new.

Fiber Garden

As a paper artist, I often wondered which fiber plants I could grow myself in order to experience and influence the entire process from seedbed to paper.

My paper workshop at Kunstraum Testorf is located on an old farmstead with a huge garden.

Apart from a few experiments with flax, the fiber garden has been in existence since 2020. After five years, we now have around 80 m² under cultivation.
